About Alberto Morillas

Alberto Morillas is a master perfumer at dsm-firmenich and one of the defining figures in contemporary fragrance. The jasmine, clean laundry, well water, and fruit trees of his childhood courtyard in Seville, together with the Atlantic air of family holidays, remain enduring sensory foundations.

Career

Across decades of creation, Morillas has worked closely with research and development chemists, combining an encyclopedic knowledge of perfume history with new natural techniques and breakthrough synthetic molecules. He became the first perfumer to receive the Fragrance Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Morillas sees perfumery as a mirror of society and the perfumer as an artist interpreting its emotions. He compares a formula to a well-written sentence: impact comes not from the number of beautiful words, but from the feeling with which they are joined. Light, water, gardens, and sea memories become transparent structures where familiar beauty and forward-looking technology coexist naturally.

Signature Works

  • *CK One* — A collaborative expression of citrus and musk transparency that captured its era.
  • *Acqua di Giò* — Sea air and sunlight translated into an expansive aromatic structure.
