Opus VII Reckless Leather
A powerful green leather eau de parfum where bitter galbanum and hot spice melt into smoky oud, saline ambergris and animalic leather, drying down to an austere yet sensual trail of incense, cypriol and creamy sandalwood.
Scent Development and Character
A dense green‑leather composition that opens with bitter, herbaceous galbanum sharpened by spicy fenugreek, cardamom, nutmeg and pink pepper. The heart turns darker and more abstract, built around agarwood smoke, patchouli and a salty‑animalic ambergris‑Ambrox accord that wraps a dry, supple leather. In the drydown, costus, muscone and cypriol deepen the animalic leather impression while sandalwood and olibanum add creamy woods and incense smoke, leaving a long‑lasting, smoky green leather trail that feels both austere and sensual.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Best suited to cooler weather and evening wear, this intense green leather reads dressed‑up and contemplative rather than casual. Its assertive opening and long, smoky leather drydown make it ideal for formal events, night walks and occasions where a distinctive, slightly challenging signature is welcome; application should be moderated in tight or warm indoor spaces. Most comfortable in autumn and winter, when the smoky, animalic leather and resins feel enveloping rather than oppressive; can work on cool spring evenings but is generally too dense and smoky for hot summer days. Sillage is Strong projection in the first few hours with a pronounced green‑smoky aura, then gradually settles into a moderate but clearly perceptible trail rather than a skin scent. Longevity is Very long‑lasting; often remains noticeable on skin for 10–14 hours and can cling to clothing into the next day, with the leather‑smoke accord persisting the longest. These are editorial estimates derived from the official composition and concentration and will vary with skin and climate.
