Very Musc
A woody musk that moves from clary sage and lemon into musks and tonka, settling on Madagascar vanilla and incense.
Perfumer: Alberto Morillas
Mizensir introduces this fragrance with Charles Baudelaire's description of musk, then explains the material's role in perfumery: it melts into other notes, rounds them out and helps their scent last. Very Musc is presented as an expression of musk's delicacy and complexity.
The top pairs clary sage with lemon essence and Ambrox. The herbal, slightly green sage and bright lemon are given a dry, ambery-woody edge by Ambrox, which gives the soft musk a fresh outline.
The heart gathers ylang ylang essence, woody musks, musk and tonka bean. Here the brand describes the musk gradually showing its animalic, wilder side. Creamy ylang ylang and warm tonka give that skin-like musk a soft floral sweetness.
At the base, Madagascar vanilla and incense take over. The roundness of vanilla is held in check by resinous smoke, and the composition turns darker and denser toward the end. It is a scent to follow from a crisp herbal start to a warm, deep finish.
