Ideal Oud

Ideal Oud is built as a frank dialogue between oud and rose, two materials Mizensir presents as opposites: strength and delicacy, shadow and light. Master perfumer Alberto Morillas takes the role of arbiter in that conversation.

The opening pairs Bulgarian rose essence with centifolia rose absolute, a duo chosen to tame the power and complexity of the oud. SFE pink pepper essence gives the petals a dry, spicy edge.

In the heart, essence of oud from Laos meets saffron absolute and ylang ylang, and the oud takes on the character of a dark, mysterious flower. Papyrus wood essence and labdanum absolute in the base bring out the woody, leathery character, while Bourbon vanilla absolute adds a rounder tone beneath them.

Mizensir describes the result as an oud that is neither heady nor animalic, balanced and nuanced like silk satin on the skin. It suits someone who wants oud read through rose and wood rather than smoke or animal depth.
