Tonic Water
A marine composition by Alberto Morillas. Calone®'s watery feel meets Sichuan pepper and cardamom, then turns mineral and resinous with ambergris-like molecules, incense and papyrus.
Perfumer: Alberto Morillas
Tonic Water is Alberto Morillas's portrait of his deep love for the sea. Mizensir sets the scene with sand stretching into silence, an ocean meeting the sky at the horizon, and waves heard from a distance, and calls the result both hyper-realistic and dreamlike.
In the top, Calone® suggests the faint feel of water on skin. Sichuan pepper and green cardamom essences give that clear wetness a tingling edge and a bright, green spice.
The heart lists Ambrox®, Cetalox® and Cachalox®. Cachalox and Cetalox bring ambergris-like accents with a subtle mineral quality, adding a dry, stony texture to the watery impression.
The base combines incense resinoid, papyrus, vanilla absolute and Norlimbanol®. Papyrus wood and incense are meant to convey the ocean's power and depth, while vanilla adds a soft, sensual shading. The composition moves from light water toward a calmer depth of resin and wood.
