Poudre Désir
A powdery extrait centred on Italian iris. Jasmine, gardenia, musks and heliotrope soften it into a pastel, sunlit glow.
Perfumer: Alberto Morillas
Poudre Désir is an extrait de parfum (27%) that grew from a powdery pink painting. Founder and creative director Franck Salzwedel set out to explore every shade of pink: soft, pastel and sunlit. Perfumer Alberto Morillas returned to the memory of an iris the two had once imagined together and wanted to carry its echo further. The opening pairs Calabrian bergamot and Italian mandarin with Madagascan pink pepper. The bright citrus and faint peppery sparkle keep the powder from feeling dusty. At the heart, Italian iris leads, joined by Egyptian jasmine, jasmine petals and gardenia. These flowers round out the dry, cosmetic softness of iris with a creamy white-floral sweetness. The base settles on musks, Atlas cedar and heliotrope, where heliotrope's vanilla-like tenderness meets a quiet wood. Rather than a heavy powder, it reads as a veil of pale light, best for anyone drawn to iris that stays close and luminous instead of dense and sweet.
