Epine de Rose
A woody spicy rose seen through its thorns, sharpened by ginger and peppers and shaded by agarwood and incense.
Perfumer: Alberto Morillas
Epine de Rose opens its story with the line "This is not a rose." Mizensir asks the wearer to set aside the fragile petals, subtle hues and soft scent that made the rose a symbol of delicacy, and to meet it instead through its thorns, imagining a flower in armour.
Mandarin, ginger and agarwood essences form the top, so bright citrus and ginger heat are shaded by wood from the start.
Bulgarian rose essence sits at the heart between SFE pink pepper and black pepper essences. In the brand's reading of the rose's dual character, ginger and the peppers supply a sparkling accent, while agarwood, incense heart and Limbanol® give the darker side. Alaska cedar essence completes the base with a dry woody foundation.
Rose is surrounded by vivid ginger and pepper, with the darker shading of woods and incense.
