Montale is a perfume house established by Pierre Montale in Paris in 2003. It connects French perfumery with materials and traditions encountered in the Middle East, including oud, rose, amber and incense. Travel and memories of different places become fuller compositions with readily recognizable themes.

History

After discovering fragrance materials and traditions around the Arabian Peninsula, Pierre Montale returned to Paris in 2003 and introduced his eponymous house. Compositions centred on oud became an important starting point. The range has since broadened into flowers, fruit, leather and sweeter gourmand themes while retaining a connection between different regions and their olfactory traditions.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The house gives individual materials a clear role, from the force of oud and generosity of rose to the softer, more intimate character of musk. It values intensity and a lingering impression while using gardens, deserts and moments in the city as creative settings. Its aluminium bottle takes inspiration from the larger containers used by perfumers in Grasse to preserve fragrance concentrates, connecting practical protection with a recognizable design.

Iconic Fragrances

Intense Café links coffee and rose with vanilla and musk, while Roses Musk explores the contrast of rose and white musk. Arabians Tonka develops a fuller oud and tonka theme. Chocolate Greedy offers a sweeter composition recalling chocolate, showing the house's interest in gourmand sensations alongside its woody and floral signatures.
