Dark Aoud explores a darker, more enigmatic expression of oud. Montale describes Indian sandalwood softening a powerful woody composition that echoes the hidden heart of ancient Asian forests.
Black pepper, saffron and cardamom open with drier bite and layers of warm spice. Oud, leather and cedar create a heart of deeper wood, leathery texture and drier woody lines. Sandalwood, vetiver and ambergris give the foundation smoother wood, calmer roots and softer depth. The focus falls on the shading of wood rather than brighter flowers or fruit.
A black label accompanies the gold spray and charm on the gold 50mL aluminium bottle. Pierre Montale offers an invitation to spend time with the quieter complexities of darker wood.
