About Agatho Parfum
Agatho Parfum is a niche fragrance house founded in Rome in 2018, born from the studio of painter and architect Alessandro Bianchi. The brand draws inspiration from the elegance of ancient Pompeii, transforming historical heritage into contemporary olfactory art.
History
The project began with a sketch and a wish to make an object people would want to keep close. Pompeii, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, provides a rich setting for exploring beauty, pleasure, and the gestures of everyday life in antiquity. The fragrances approach that past through contemporary composition and design.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Agatho Parfum views perfume as an object that inspires desire and evokes emotion through daily ritual. The brand honors Neapolitan porcelain tradition with handcrafted, hand-painted ceramic caps for the Pompei Collection. Each painted cap gives that collection a visual link to decorative craftsmanship. All fragrances are vegan and cruelty-free, reflecting a commitment to ethical craftsmanship.
Iconic Fragrances (or Did You Know?)
The bestseller is 195 a.C. from the Pompei Collection, a green woody scent centered on fig that embodies the collection's blend of historical rigor and modern sophistication. Other collections include Mytho, which includes Seigiorni and its six days in Athens, and Olympia, which explores ancient athletic rituals through notes like olive and vetiver.
