Fauno
Inspired by Pompeii's House of the Faun, Fauno moves from smoky tobacco leaf and bright citrus through creamy tuberose to a dark close of olibanum and suede.
Perfumer: Maurizio Cerizza
Fauno takes its name from the House of the Faun in Pompeii, where, as the brand recalls, a bronze creature half man and half beast once danced. That image becomes a gateway to the untamed exuberance of nature, its magical creatures and the power of instinct. The fragrance is presented as an invitation to leave reality behind and enter a dreamlike dimension.
Juicy grapefruit and apple meet the bitter green of mugwort and the dry smokiness of tobacco leaf. Almond rounds the edges and softens the citrus.
In the heart, clary sage brings an amber-like sweetness that meets creamy tuberose. Petitgrain and juniper berries add a leafy greenness and a faint coniferous lift, keeping the white flower from becoming too dense.
The drydown centres on dry olibanum smoke and the smooth feel of suede. Amber and tolu balsam leave a thin layer of resinous sweetness, while cedarwood gives the composition a quiet woody frame. White flowers and smoke, sweetness and bitterness meet in the woody, resinous finish.
