Rossopompeiano
Inspired by the cinnabar red of Pompeii's frescoes, it moves from mandarin and bitter almond through five flowers to sandalwood and vanilla.
Perfumer: Maurizio Cerizza
Rossopompeiano, 'Pompeian red', takes its inspiration from the cinnabar red of Pompeii's frescoes. In patrician villas, secret gardens and rooms for convivial gatherings, that red played against gold, deep black and ivory, and the fragrance sets out to translate this richness into scent.
Yellow mandarin, bitter almond and galbanum open it. Sweet, sunny citrus meets the toasted bitterness of almond, while galbanum draws a sharp green line through both.
The heart is a bouquet of damask rose, jasmine sambac, orange blossom, ylang-ylang and heliotrope. Rose and dense white flowers build volume, and heliotrope adds a powdery sweetness.
Sandalwood, vanilla, white amber, labdanum, patchouli and cashmere wood make up the base. Creamy wood and vanilla carry the warmth, resinous labdanum and earthy patchouli give depth, and the finish stays warm on the skin.
