Sileno
A portrait of Silenus singing in Pompeii's citrus groves, moving from green citrus to Sichuan pepper and scrub, then seaweed, ginger and woods.
Perfumer: Maurizio Cerizza
Sileno imagines the sage Silenus singing as he wanders through the citrus groves of Pompeii. His devotion to leisure and meditation provides a setting for Mediterranean gardens and woods close to the sea. Maurizio Cerizza composed the fragrance.
Citrus and fresh green notes meet the sweet-tart character of blackcurrant and the softness of orange flower. A Mediterranean scrub accord evokes leaves, herbs and dry branches, accompanied by the citrus-edged spice of Sichuan pepper. Ylang-ylang adds another floral expression within the green and spicy setting.
Seaweed absolute brings a salty marine character alongside the warmth of ginger root, precious woods and cedarwood. The house pictures this combination as a meeting of sea and forest, with a salty woody trail. Brighter fruit and flowers connect with the deeper character of seaweed and woods.
Sileno uses the 100ml bottle of the Pompei Collection, with a rounded, coloured cap. Aromatic vegetation, spice and the texture of salt-tinged woods bring different parts of the Mediterranean landscape into the same composition.
