About Jordi Fernández
Jordi Fernández is a Spanish perfumer who moves between a Mediterranean sensibility and sustained study of Middle Eastern scent culture, refusing to let powerful materials become weight alone. Projection, texture on skin, and an immediately memorable signature are organized within one legible structure.
Career
Raised in Catalonia, Fernández learned perfumery through practical work at Barcelona-based Eurofragance. He joined Givaudan in 2010 and now works as a Vice President Perfumer on international fine-fragrance projects. His path was built in the workplace rather than through the conventional school route, developing through contact with materials, producers, and markets in different regions. He is also a member of Spain's Academia del Perfume.
Creative Style & Philosophy
The density of oud, resins, leather, and spices may be cut by citrus, florals, mineral effects, or transparent woods, keeping volume in motion. A broad label such as oriental is not treated as a fixed convention; materials are reconsidered through both their places of origin and present wearing cultures. Intensity comes from contrast, space, and timing as well as dosage, allowing material shadow to remain inside commercially lucid construction.
Signature Works
- *Explorer* — Bergamot, woods, and leather create a clear sense of movement and a long trail in a co-created composition.
- *Rose Musk* — Rose and musk are brought close together to emphasize petals and skin warmth.
- *Rose Blaze* — Rose, saffron, and woods form dry light and saturated color.
