About Meo Fusciuni
Meo Fusciuni is an artistic perfumery house based in Sarzana, a town in Liguria in north-west Italy. Every fragrance is composed by perfumer Giuseppe Imprezzabile in the brand's own atelier. Each scent is presented as a chapter in a diary of travels, readings and personal memories.
History
The project began in 2010, with Giuseppe Imprezzabile as perfumer and Federica Castellani as art director. Their atelier sits in the historic centre of Sarzana, where a post-modern interior with Japanese influences stands in contrast to the old Ligurian streets. Giuseppe and Federica work there day to day, shaping each step of the project together. The brand has also exhibited at Pitti Fragranze in Florence.
Approach to fragrance
Travel, poetry and memory are the starting points. The perfumer first puts a remembered place or experience into words, then works out how to express it in scent. Formulas take shape slowly, often after years of reflection, writing and travel. Raw materials, both natural and synthetic, are sourced from around the world. The name, the olfactory pyramid and even the paper wrapped around the bottle are designed as parts of a single narrative.
