Notturno is dedicated to night and to poetry. It follows the sleepless night that holds a poet in its arms, told through five autobiographical moments. Its starting point is an inner journey: a dark tunnel where one pauses to consider the beauty of words carved by the ink of life.
Rum gives the opening a sharp, heady edge before the warm leather comes through. The heart wraps around you the way leather once bound writers' old diaries: Clove, Birch and a dark, refined Leather accord, with a faint floral trace kept inside. At this point in the night, Ink appears and calls up the writers who shaped the creator's life: Hölderlin, Rilke, Celan, Strindberg and Dostoevsky.
The base turns sensual and romantic, with the warmth of Amber and Musk set against the meditative calm of Cedarwood and Incense. What stays on the skin is dusty and smoky, the soul of poetry in this telling. That dry, smoky finish holds the maker’s memories of the poets he returns to.
