Amara Vita grew out of the end of a love affair. Its creator recalls sitting alone with a chocolate cake, gaze lost in the distance, trying bite by bite to sink the pain into sweetness. Cocoa became the philosopher's stone of the scent: the material meant to transform that pain.
Cocoa stays present from first spray to drydown. Early on it melts into the warm fruit of raspberry and candied orange; further in it meets powdery iris and the creaminess of sandalwood and tonka bean. Dark and deep, it keeps swaying between bitter and sweet, the same contradiction its creator found in love.
What lingers is bitter yet graceful, nostalgic yet glad, closer to calm than to grief.
