Last Season comes from a trip to Sweden, to a place far from the noise of the world. In those quiet days of beauty and friendship, the maker found again the wish to go deep into things, to live them fully and to venture into life, and chose to let nature do all the talking in this perfume.
The scene is a first morning: a warm August day, landing on an island of mosses. Marine plants lie on the dark rocks of the Baltic, and visitors walk slowly and respectfully through a green, earthy, humid space while the sun warms the bark and animals look on from their dens.
Immortelle, chamomile, artemisia and bay leaf give the aromatic first impression, Canadian pine and galbanum add green, and fucus algae and hay follow. Cistus, labdanum, myrrh and olibanum bring resin, tobacco, birch, leather and oud bring depth, and vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, guaiac wood, patchouli and musk hold it all together. The title returns in the closing line of the maker's text: eyes shut, listening to nature's essence in this last season.
