About Francesca Bianchi

Francesca Bianchi is the perfume house of an Italian-born perfumer based in Amsterdam. It approaches fragrance as an artistic medium for communicating emotion, memory and intimacy. Bianchi conceives and formulates each composition herself, allowing an idea to develop through repeated work with fragrant materials rather than beginning with a fixed commercial formula.

History

After studying art history, Bianchi worked in art book publishing and lived in Florence, Berlin, Luxembourg and Amsterdam. A book on natural perfumery prompted independent study and experimentation. She eventually established her own perfume line in Amsterdam. The current production process connects several places: completed formulas are produced in Grasse, then sent to Milan for maturation, filtration, bottling and packaging.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Her central interest is the experience of being human, including the private feelings that a scent can recall. Natural and synthetic materials are both part of that language. She values the complexity of naturals while also using effects that synthetic molecules make possible, choosing materials for the idea they can express. The result often explores tactile, sensual or animalic impressions without making those effects a rule for every composition.

Iconic Fragrances

Insomnia draws on the freedom of working at night, while Gauguin reinterprets the scent of monoi through a personal encounter with the material. Alongside extrait de parfum, the house offers Sublime Oils: alcohol-free oil perfumes that present their corresponding compositions at a softer dose. These forms provide different ways to experience the same creative world.
