Gauguin
Tiare and coconut recall monoï oil in a perfume inspired by Gauguin’s paintings.
Perfumer: Francesca Bianchi
Gauguin connects Bianchi’s study of the painter with a bottle of monoï brought back from Polynesia by an art historian she worked with. She reworked the foundation of Sex and the Sea to make space for a softer tropical floral accord.
Bergamot and aldehydes meet tiare and coconut, supported by ylang-ylang, tuberose and geranium. Ambery vanilla, vetiver and musks give the white flowers a warm setting. It is a separate composition built around that remembered monoï character.
