Lorenzo Pazzaglia
An Italian chef and perfumer exploring food memories and coastal settings through his own house.
About Lorenzo Pazzaglia
Lorenzo Pazzaglia is an Italian perfumer and chef rooted in the Marche region. Working through his own fragrance house, he draws on remembered food, spirits, coastal settings and family experiences, translating those subjects into compositions built around expressive contrasts.
Career
He grew up in his family's restaurant among the hills of Cagli, where the sounds of cooking, the smell of simmering sauces and the handling of dough brought taste and smell together. His early experiments with essential oils were shared with friends and restaurant guests, whose responses encouraged him to continue developing the work. Supported by his family, he established PAX and began presenting the house's fragrances in 2021, extending a personal creative practice into a business.
Creative Style & Philosophy
His culinary background informs an interest in how materials interact rather than simply how each one smells alone. Juicy fruit can meet the warmth of spirits, while a marine impression may be set against woods and resins. Concentrated extraits de parfum are central to his work, but green, spicy and salty effects provide alternatives to a uniformly sweet treatment of a subject.
Signature Works
- *Summer Hammer* interprets a mango piña colada through fruit, coconut milk and marine notes.
- *Black Sea* evokes the sea before a storm, connecting water, salt, seaweed and ambergris.
- *Carbonara* begins with a culinary subject and sets pepper against softer coconut and amber impressions.
