About Vanina Muracciole

Vanina Muracciole is an independent perfumer based in Paris. Memories of Corsican landscapes, a love of music and an interest in historic fragrances inform her work for houses including Jovoy and Lubin.

Career

After studying chemistry, Muracciole graduated from ISIPCA in Versailles and began her professional career with MANE in Milan and Grasse. She later worked with the master perfumer at Jean Patou in Paris. In 2012 she became independent, opening a studio on the Left Bank and broadening the range of houses with which she collaborated.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Corsica, her father's homeland, left lasting childhood memories of the maquis: the intertwined aromas of cistus, myrtle and immortelle. She often imagines accords as colours and relates their composition to the music she plays on the piano, using those sensory connections to interpret a client's personal experience. Her collection of old perfumery books and her interest in twentieth-century fragrances offer further starting points, particularly when she reworks an older structure with contemporary materials.

Signature Works

  • *Fire at Will* — a Jovoy fragrance bringing vanilla and mimosa together with a sugar-like sweetness.
  • *L'Art de la Guerre* — a Jovoy fougère combining rhubarb and lavender with a leather accord.
