Incident Diplomatique means ‘diplomatic incident’. Jovoy describes it through deliberate provocation, a scent that steps past convention without weighing the consequences. In the composition, that attitude becomes a dense woody fragrance with vetiver at its centre.
Mandarin sits at the top, vetiver and nutmeg form the heart, and patchouli and sandalwood make up the base. The bright sweetness of citrus peel leads into the dry, earthy root character of vetiver, and nutmeg adds warm, rounded spice to its hardness.
Perfumer Vanina Muracciole names a Java vetiver combined with Australian sandalwood and oak moss, seasoned with nutmeg and mandarin, and calls the result robust and intense. Shaded mossiness and smooth wood surround the harder edge of the roots.
