About FUMparFUM
FUMparFUM is an independent perfume studio founded in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2011 by Aistis Mickevičius. An artist, actor and former radio DJ, he serves as its founder and perfumer, connecting fragrance with a wider practice of performance, images and ideas.
History
Mickevičius developed the studio as a platform for conceptual art perfumery, following his interest in the creative possibilities of scent. He published a Lithuanian book on perfume in 2016, with a second edition in 2021, and opened the Per Fumum olfactory and visual art gallery in Vilnius at the end of 2023. The studio also makes scent installations for objects, exhibitions and cultural events, extending its work beyond bottled fragrance.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Natural and synthetic materials are selected and combined in handmade, limited productions, with an approach that brings European perfume traditions into contemporary artistic expression. Theatrical ideas, unexpected material combinations and a modern vintage sensibility give the collections their character. Mickevičius treats a perfume as a wearable artwork, connecting travel, cinema and personal experience with an idea developed before work begins in the laboratory.
Iconic Fragrances
Touching Hinoki interprets Japanese quiet through a watercolor-like wood composition, while Tokyo Songs notices pockets of nature within a large city. The name FUMparFUM is itself a play on Latin, Italian and French words associated with perfume.
