Encre Noire À L’Extrême
Bergamot, cypress and elemi lead into vetiver, incense and orris, with benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli giving the woods a fuller depth.
Perfumer: Nathalie Lorson
Encre Noire À L’Extrême develops the woody expression of Encre Noire in a richer, deeper direction. Its theme lies between light and shadow, exploring a fuller texture around cypress and vetiver. Created by Nathalie Lorson and introduced in 2015, this eau de parfum gives those woods a warmer, more enveloping setting.
Sparkling bergamot opens beside the aromatic woodiness of cypress and the rounder character of elemi. At the heart, two qualities of vetiver from Haiti and Java meet incense and softer orris. Siam benzoin, sandalwood and patchouli carry the fragrance into a deeper finish, connecting smoky and earthy impressions with the warmth of resin.
Try it when you want to spend time with quieter woods and balsamic textures, perhaps on a cooler outing or alongside a book. The angular 100mL bottle contrasts a black lower section with the amber-coloured liquid visible above. A dark, wood-grained cap and white Encre Noire À L’Extrême lettering continue the interplay of brighter and darker surfaces expressed by the fragrance.
