Ensang Noir
A smoked black rose cut with metallic aldehydes and black ink: a dark, unsweetened declaration of love.
Perfumer: Bertrand Duchaufour
L’Entropiste calls Ensang Noir “a passionate declaration of love written in ink and in blood.” At its centre is a black rose, not softened with sugar but sharpened by smoke and a metallic edge.
It opens on a dark, almost smoky rose. Metallic aldehydes cut through it at once, setting up a taut, dramatic tension. In the heart a deep, textured incense rises, touched with black ink, alongside magnolia.
The base gathers opoponax, patchouli and smoked woods. The opoponax warms and deepens everything, leaving a mysterious signature.
