About L’Entropiste

L’Entropiste is an independent French fragrance house launched in Paris in January 2025. Bertrand Duchaufour composed its inaugural collection. The house has a boutique in the Marais.

Origins

The house was launched by two people. Denis Bellaïche, a former luxury and beauty executive who has led several international brands, serves as CEO. Co-founder Kris Fang financed the launch and conceived the concept, then gave Duchaufour free rein to define the olfactory signature. The Paris agency Centdegrés designed the bottles and visual identity. That same year, Dorian’s Spleen won the Fragrance Foundation France’s Best Niche Perfume award in the Independent Brands, Rising Stars category.

Composition

The name comes from entropy, the physical measure of how order breaks down. In practice, this means putting materials that rarely share a formula side by side and letting a new balance come out of the clash. Duchaufour often works with incense, setting its dry smoke against notes such as orange liqueur and amber.

Signature Fragrances

  • **Dorian’s Spleen**: a smoky gourmand that layers whisky and coffee over ashes.
  • **Blanc Sada**: a powdery white floral of rice powder and iris, roughened with dry straw.
  • **Semence Douce**: a green floral where soft almond milk meets saffron and plant sap.
