Spice D’Arno
Citrus and spice lead to leather, bran, resins and oud in a fragrance inspired by Florence and the flow of the Arno.
Perfumer: Céline Barel
Spice D’Arno moves between contrasting textures with a rhythm inspired by the river running through Florence. Created by Céline Barel and introduced in 2024, it draws on the city’s leather and iris, alongside the movement of goods and ideas along the Arno. Soft, full-grain leather meets resins, balsams and fresher spices.
Pink pepper, bergamot, lemon, cardamom and elemi introduce leather, bran absolute, cistus, thyme, iris and orange blossom. Oud, vanilla, myrrh and Cashmeran form the warmer base. Barel also identifies frankincense, labdanum, gurjun balsam and saffron in her account of the composition, giving the leather and resins further depth.
Consider it for an outing when softer leather and gentle sweetness appeal, or an evening with warmer spice. The 100mL bottle combines orange-coloured glass with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. Interlacing lines surround the matching circular medallion carrying the eagle and fragrance name above the thick coloured glass base.
