Mango and citrus lead to osmanthus, iris and oud, exploring a connection between fruit and wood beneath a subject of sky and earth.

Astrum Nova takes its subject from the connection between the night sky and the natural world below it. Created by David Chieze and introduced in 2025, it explores a fruitier facet of oud alongside its more familiar woody character. Osmanthus provides a bridge between mango and oud, connecting their different textures through the flower’s own fruity and more animalic aspects.
Mango, ambrette seed, bergamot, lemon and mandarin introduce blackcurrant, orris and osmanthus. Apricot-like floral freshness and the softer powdery texture of orris meet the fuller fruit. Oud, musk, Ambertonic, oakmoss, tonka, vanilla and Ambroxan form a deeper base, giving the sweeter materials a warmer woody framework.
Consider it for an outing when you want fruit alongside oud, or a more dressed-up occasion. The 100mL bottle has star-speckled blue glass with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. Interlacing lines surround its blue circular medallion, which carries the eagle and fragrance name above a thick coloured glass base.
