About Delphine Thierry
A French perfumer who graduated top of her class from ISIPCA and trained with Chanel, IFF, and Mane before founding her own studio, Inspiration Libre, in 2007. She is known for natural-focused compositions with transparent florals and woody depth.
Career
After earning a chemistry degree, she attended ISIPCA, where she interned with Jacques Polge at Chanel and Carlos Benaïm at IFF. She then spent twelve years at IFF and Mane, working in Paris, New York, Mexico, and Grasse. In 2007, she launched Inspiration Libre and now creates from her studio near Grasse, surrounded by nature.
Creative Style & Philosophy
When composing with natural materials alone, Thierry revisits her ingredients and sets aside familiar conventions. She values their individual character, including earthy or camphoraceous facets that might otherwise be smoothed away. She also sees natural and conventional perfumery as practices that can coexist, each offering its own creative possibilities.
