Career
After perfumery training, Lie worked at fragrance houses including Givaudan and Takasago. He became independent after roughly twenty-seven years in composition houses and now works through his own practice, ALOE. Independence gives him a direct working relationship with brands and more room for formulas that keep their roughness, contrast, and unusual material effects.
Creative Style and Philosophy
