RANCÉ is a perfume house originating in Grasse and continuing its work in Milan. Seven generations of family history and preserved formula books connect French olfactory traditions with Italian craft. Flowers, plants, historical memories and contemporary composition all contribute to the different collections that make up the house’s fragrance world.

History

In 1795, François Rancé, known for his perfumed gloves, established a perfume laboratory in Grasse. The house became associated with Napoleon’s court during the nineteenth century. Alexandre Rancé moved the business to Milan in 1902, opening its Italian chapter. Jeanne-Sandra Rancé later guided its modern creative development. Giovanni Rancé now directs the company as its seventh generation, carrying the family’s work into the present.

Philosophy and Signature Style

The house preserves historical formulas and memories while continuing scientific research and creative work. Names and stories associated with the past meet present arrangements of flowers, fruit, woods and resins. Collaborations with independent perfumers form part of this activity, making it necessary to distinguish an original historical formula from a modern reinterpretation. Bottle design and packaging also participate in presenting the person or scene behind a composition.
