François Charles
Citrus, pineapple and spices lead into flowers and herbs, then woods accented by caramel and chocolate.
Perfumer: Giovanni Rancé
François Charles draws on the Rancé family’s story of celebrating the birth of Napoleon’s only son. Giovanni Rancé composed the modern eau de parfum, introduced in 2007. The brand combines citrus with playful fruit, warm spices, aromatic flowers and a final gourmand texture.
Grapefruit, bitter orange and pineapple meet cinnamon, cardamom, aniseed and ginger at the top. Lavender, clary sage, orange blossom, jasmine and rose connect aromatic freshness with flowers in the heart. Sandalwood, patchouli, caramel, chocolate, amber, musk and cedarwood layer woods and sweetness in the base.
The selected classical 100mL bottle holds that varied composition. Its passage from lively fruit to spices and sweeter woods suits an outing or an outfit intended for the later afternoon.
