About Giovanni Rancé
Giovanni Rancé is a perfumer and seventh-generation member of the RANCÉ family, serving as the house’s CEO and creative director. His work connects the family’s origins in Grasse with its later development in Milan. Antique formula books and preserved objects remain part of the inheritance surrounding his creative activity.
Career
He grew up near the company’s offices, laboratory and warehouse, developing an interest in the transformation of fragrance materials. Taking responsibility for the house meant building on an established identity. The official history credits his contribution to international expansion across more than fifty markets, alongside his creative leadership.
Creative Style and Philosophy
Continuity with earlier generations provides a setting for contemporary compositions. His credited work brings together citrus, fruit, spices, flowers and richly textured woods, with different balances of sweetness and dryness. Historical formulas and later modern compositions belong to different periods of authorship within the same family. That distinction allows the inherited stories to remain visible while recognizing the work involved in developing a fragrance for a contemporary collection.
