Selfie's box carries no inspirational photograph. Instead it has a mirror that reflects whoever picks it up, because its inspiration is the person wearing it. Dedicated to the vertigo of the selfie, the perfume plays a self-portrait, version 2.0, owning the contemporary urge to leave a trace, whether olfactory or visual. The perfumer is Thomas Fontaine.
At its heart is a maple syrup accord, a thick, comforting sweetness scattered with sparks of ginger, star anise and cinnamon, with elemi and incense giving it resinous depth. The base is what gives it character: a styrax-built animal accord evoking suede and the chypre shading of oakmoss and labdanum keep this self-portrait from being merely sweet.
