Scent Development and Character
Tapis Volant lifts off in a cool, luminous breeze of bergamot and airy aldehydes brushed with a subtle carrot-seed earthiness, like sunlight glinting on a weightless fabric. As it unfolds, iris and jasmine drift in with soft, powdered florals and gentle spices, evoking a suspended garden where petals and spice threads weave across warm air. In the base, vetiver, sandalwood and tonka bean create a silky, slightly earthy woodiness that feels like a golden oriental carpet gliding above the ground: smooth, refined, and quietly enveloping rather than heavy or sweet.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Tapis Volant wears as a refined, low-key iris-woody veil: bright and slightly abstract at the start, then increasingly soft, powdery and woody with a touch of oriental warmth. Its moderate presence and smooth evolution make it well suited to office wear, travel, and contemplative evenings, bridging fresh and comfort moods; it can be worn year-round, but feels particularly at home in mild or cooler weather when its airy structure and silky wood base can fully unfold without becoming heavy. Most at home in spring and autumn, where its airy aldehydic opening and powdery iris-woody base feel balanced and textural; still comfortable in winter, and only slightly less ideal in peak summer heat. Sillage: moderate, forming a noticeable but discreet aura that stays closer to the wearer after the first couple of hours, more like a polished cloud than a loud trail. Longevity: Moderate to moderately long-lasting: around 7–9 hours on skin, with the iris-woody base lingering as a quiet veil after the brighter opening has faded.
