Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié is a Moroccan-born, France-trained perfumer. She grew up in Casablanca among orange blossom, leather from the medina, and spices from her mother's kitchen. Her father and sister discussed fragrances as textures, flavours, and emotions, so translating smell into another sensory language became instinctive. That early habit still informs compositions designed to be felt and remembered rather than merely identified by their ingredients.

Career

Bouazzaoui Grillié studied engineering and chemistry in France, believing that scientific training would give her a practical route into fragrance. A holiday position at Givaudan confirmed her ambition. She also gained experience evaluating cosmetic formulas and completed a short placement with Parfums Christian Dior before entering the Givaudan Perfumery School. Theatre, singing, electric guitar, and bass have remained parallel creative disciplines, enriching the rhythm and emotional range of her perfume work.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Her palette often bridges two olfactory cultures. Musk, amber, spice, leather, and the warmth of Moroccan memory meet the luminous florals, woods, and structural clarity associated with French perfumery. She is drawn to apparent opposites: warmth and airiness, sensual depth and transparency, tradition and a contemporary silhouette. Scientific knowledge gives her precise control of the formula, but the ultimate aim is emotional. A successful fragrance becomes a trail of memory, capable of transporting the wearer without losing elegance or modern wearability.
