Une Folie de Rose
Bergamot and coriander lead into rich roses, with moss, patchouli, woods and benzoin adding depth.
Perfumer: François Robert
Une Folie de Rose pictures an urban woman moving between Paris, London and Milan, surrounded by the tactile richness of silk and fur. François Robert composed it in 2004. Rose gains a more settled outline from moss and woods, joining a generous floral presence with an orderly chypre character.
Bergamot and coriander bring citrus light and drier aromatic spice. Ylang-ylang, jasmine, tea rose, Bulgarian and Turkish rose and iris form a fuller floral heart. Sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver and benzoin give that bouquet a woodier, resinous depth around its softer petals.
The selected 50mL flacon gives the composition a tangible presence. The rounded glass bottle carries an R monogram and decorative tassels around its neck. A jacket or clothing with richer fabric textures suits the composition. Its moss and woods offer a grounded setting for someone wanting rose with additional structure.
