Valparaiso

Bitter-edged cardamom meets incense, myrrh and patchouli over cedar and vetiver, evoking the wooded coast of Chile under a fresh, spicy sea breeze.

バルパライソ 100mL ボトル

Valparaiso imagines the wooded coast of Chile swept by a fresh, spicy breeze carrying sea spray. Composed by Alexandra Monet and introduced in 2018, the eau de parfum approaches that landscape through spices, resins and woods. Its coastal setting is an idea expressed through those materials rather than a reason to add an unlisted salt or aquatic note. Freshness and a deeper woody presence remain in conversation throughout the composition.

Cardamom gives the opening a lively, slightly bitter spice. Incense forms the heart, joined by the myrrh and patchouli described in the house's account of the fragrance. The base turns towards vetiver and cedar: greener and faintly smoky root qualities meet a drier, wood-shaving-like outline. Together they give the resins a firmer frame while retaining the impression of cooler air moving through the woods.

It may suit a walk on a cooler day or a moment when you want wood and resin without a strongly sugary character. The selected 100mL presentation combines rounded black glass with a broad black cap. A gold botanical emblem occupies the front, with Valparaiso written beneath it above the thick curved glass base.
