Encre Indigo
Bergamot and juniper lead into saffron and Korean Jukro black tea, with vetiver and patchouli lending a deeper, inky character.
Perfumer: Annick Menardo
Encre Indigo translates blue spreading through water into a fragrance, moving from brighter colour towards the depth of ink. Drawing on the light and movement of René Lalique’s glasswork, Annick Menardo builds contrasts between sparkling citrus, warmer spice and quieter woods. The eau de parfum was introduced in 2023.
Calabrian bergamot opens with aromatic juniper berry and pink pepper. At the heart, Madagascan bay leaf oil brings warmth beside saffron and a Korean Jukro black tea accord, with cooler, honeyed and cocoa-like shades. Smoky, earthy Madagascan vetiver continues into patchouli and an ambergris accord, giving the brighter opening a deeper woody setting.
Try it when you want a fresher beginning together with the quieter character of tea and dry woods, perhaps for a break during work or a walk in cooler air. Inspired by the 1913 Biches inkwell, the angular 100mL bottle moves from black to indigo glass. A glossy wooden cap and the Lalique name etched near the base continue its theme of ink and light.
