The Grey Area Perfume Mist

A gender-neutral woody-musky composition where lemon and pine arrive together with lavender and nutmeg, then settle into amyris and tonka bean before resting on agarwood, vetiver, and patchouli.

KINFOLK NOTES

ザグレイエリア パフュームミスト 100mL ボトル

The name "The Grey Area" takes its cue from Off-White—the color that sits between black and white—and the brand describes it as a scent inspired by Virgil Abloh, who led that fashion label. It is positioned as a gender-neutral fragrance that treats masculine and feminine codes as overlapping rather than opposed.

The opening pairs the brightness of lemon with the cool, resinous green of pine needles, while lavender adds a chill and nutmeg a dry warmth. Citrus, wood, cold, and warm arrive together, so the outline refuses to settle on one side from the very first moment.

As the composition develops, amyris emerges with a quiet woodiness, and tonka bean rounds the edges with a faint sweetness. The feeling drifts between firmness and softness without landing fully in either.

The base is held by agarwood, vetiver, and patchouli—a woody layer, keeping the quiet, in-between tone the opening sets up.
