Les Frivolités
A leather floral that moves from a rose-flavored macaron accord into a soft, warm suede accord.
Perfumer: Luca Maffei
Les Frivolités draws its inspiration from Jacques Fath's accessory collection, Les Frivolités de Fath. That name led perfumer Luca Maffei to think of Queen Marie Antoinette and to build the scent around a rose-flavored macaron accord, made by combining Givscone, raspberry cream and heliotrope and created exclusively for the house.
The opening is bright and fresh, with bergamot and Paradisamide softened by the delicate floral sweetness of osmanthus and a hint of spice from pink pepper.
At the heart, the lush depth of rose centifolia absolute meets the macaron accord, so the rose reads as both floral and gourmand. What first seems delicate is described by the house as a powerful, feminine and sensual composition.
From the heart toward the base, suede gives the fragrance an increasingly leathery character. Orris butter adds creamy richness, and sandalwood, amber and musk leave a warm, velvety finish on the skin.
