Ambre 114
A spicy amber built on 114 materials. Thyme and nutmeg open dry and sharp, then rose and sandalwood give way to a base of amber, vanilla and benzoin. Warm, resinous and openly sensual.
Perfumer: Gérald Ghislain, Sylvie Jourdet
Thyme and nutmeg open with a dry, herbal heat. The spice is sharp at first, then softens against the skin as it loosens.
Rose and geranium appear in the middle, held by patchouli, sandalwood, cedar and vetiver. The flowers do not dominate; they slip between the dryness of wood and the root-like weight of earth, giving the scent body without turning it sweet.
In the base, amber, vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin and musk gather. Vanilla and benzoin turn the amber into something warm and resinous rather than simply sweet, with a softness that suggests the sheen of polished resin.
Amber-colored skin warmed by a balmy, aromatic breeze — that image frames the composition. The house connects the number 114 with a composition of 114 elements. A cold evening seems a fitting occasion to follow its movement from herbs and spice toward the warmth of balsamic resin.
