Shangri La
A classic-style chypre of fruits, flowers and oakmoss, reworked in 2022.
Perfumer: Hiram Green
Hiram Green's second fragrance, originally released in 2014 as the follow-up to Moon Bloom, returns in a 2022 edition after production was halted in 2018. Green reworked the composition at the request of returning customers rather than reissuing it unchanged. The name borrows from James Hilton's 1933 novel Lost Horizon, where Shangri La is a hidden Himalayan utopia. The scent keeps the classic chypre contrast between a sharp citrus top and a woody-oakmoss base, but the revised version shifts weight toward florals and spices, giving a lighter, warmer feel than the original. Lemon, orange and bergamot open brightly before peach, jasmine, orris, rose, cinnamon and warm spices crowd the heart. Earthy vetiver and oakmoss anchor the drydown. All ingredients are of natural origin.
