Tales of Amber
New Zealand ambergris meets creamy Amber 83, warm woods and spice.
Perfumer: Suzy Le Helley
Tales of Amber draws on the ocean and Australia's wild botanicals. Perfumer Suzy Le Helley brings New Zealand ambergris together with de Laire Amber 83, a historic perfumery base, placing a marine material beside a warmer, sweeter amber expression.
The ambergris has an animalic, oceanic character. Amber 83 adds creamy sweetness and a richer balsamic texture, with labdanum and vanillin providing a way to describe the warmth of the named accord. Salty marine impressions and rounded sweetness form the central contrast.
Orange blossom and orris introduce softer flowers and a powdery texture. A moss accord accompanies Madagascan cinnamon and Australian agarwood, bringing spice and a denser woody character around the amber theme. The different materials add texture beside the sweetness of the composed amber base.
Labdanum absolute contributes a further resinous expression among the woods and sweeter materials. Tales of Amber is presented as an extrait de parfum with a stated concentration of 30%, within an ambery woody family.
