About Suzy Le Helley

Suzy Le Helley is a French perfumer at Symrise. A childhood spent smelling gardens and food developed into a practice that joins affection for plants with scientific curiosity and the possibilities of modern fragrance materials.

Career

She entered ISIPCA in 2012 and joined the Symrise perfumery school in Holzminden in 2014 for intensive creative and technical training. In 2018 she moved to the fine-fragrance team in Paris, where her work has included regulatory reformulation, AI-assisted development, and the introduction of natural materials such as vetiver and citrus from Madagascar.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Le Helley travels to meet plants and producers, yet she is equally interested in synthetic materials. She favors concise, legible formulas in which each ingredient has a clear task, using technique in service of aesthetics and emotion. Nature and technology, classic references and new tools, are not opposites in her work; they become parts of one message that the fragrance must communicate directly.

Signature Works

  • *Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle* — Aldehydes and musks shaped into a clean, textile-like aura.
  • *Bitter Splash* — A contemporary study of citrus bitterness, color, and transparency.
