Reliqvia is a 2021 extrait de parfum from the UNUM collection of Filippo Sorcinelli. In the current official structure, Filippo Sorcinelli is the brand, UNUM is one of its fragrance collections, and Reliqvia is the work.
Instead of a conventional top, heart, and base pyramid, the fragrance is presented through musical sections: SUBJECT, BACK SUBJECT, and TAIL. Patchouli, incense, cashmere wood, guaiac wood, and sandalwood form the main theme of old wood and sacred smoke. Orange blossom, Scots pine, clove, mastic, and amyris add resinous and coniferous layers, while elemi, sweet orange, black currant, nutmeg, smoke, and tobacco leaf bring dark light, spice, and a smoky finish.
The work is inspired by the Chiesa della Croce in Senigallia, Italy. Its imagery of relics, the nails of the Passion, gilded wooden walls, and incense smoke makes Reliqvia a deeply conceptual and architectural incense-woody fragrance.
