Memai
ERAM's eau de parfum moving from green tea and citrus to flowers, woods and earthy vetiver.
Perfumer: Shigeo Kishida
Perfume Name
Memai by ERAM is an eau de parfum built around green tea. It opens brightly with green tea, bergamot and lemon, passes through a soft bouquet of flowers, and settles into calm wood and earth.
About This Fragrance
ERAM is a Japanese fragrance brand born from an in-house venture at POLA ORBIS HOLDINGS. Memai comes with a short poem: “Those feelings that once came from across the sea have, before I knew it, become a part of me.” The brand describes the scent as the delicate, multilayered aroma of tea and, noting that green tea smells different around the world, renders it as an image built from natural and synthetic materials. It comes in a 30 ml bottle priced at ¥13,200 including tax.
Scent Profile
The top combines green tea, bergamot and lemon: the tea is lifted by bergamot's soft bitterness and lemon's tartness, creating a bright opening with little sweetness. Peony, muguet and magnolia follow in the heart, forming what the brand calls an elegant, radiant floral layer. The base of cedarwood, sandalwood and vetiver brings fresh conifer wood and vetiver's damp, earthy tone, supporting the tea and flowers from behind.
Who It's For
It suits people who prefer clean tea and citrus to sweetness for everyday wear. It is at its best on spring and summer days and still works on warm early-autumn afternoons. Retailers present it for both men and women. Linen or cotton shirts and light cotton tops are natural companions.
