About ERAM
History
ERAM is a Japanese fragrance brand born from Glow, an internal venture program at POLA ORBIS Holdings. Founders Kohei Oshima and Tetsuya Nishii launched it in July 2023 as a subscription service using questions, three samples, and wearer feedback to explore individual preference. In November 2024, it was reorganized into the current fragrance brand with a collection of sixteen scents.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The name comes from an old Japanese word meaning “to choose.” ERAM encourages people to move beyond assumptions based on gender, age, trends, or note lists and to notice their own sensory response. A monochrome identity developed with creative team heso combines contemporary poetry, phrases inspired by the Hyakunin Isshu, and abstract line art, leaving interpretive space around each scent.
Iconic Fragrances
The core collection pairs numbers with concise Japanese names such as 2–Kodo, 14–Hikari, and 18–Kioku. In 2025, 29–Betsujin translated the first frost and white chrysanthemum of Hyakunin Isshu poem 29 into spearmint, igusa rush, white flowers, and returning body warmth. It received the Gold award in Perfume & You's Best Fragrance Awards 2025.
