Puritas
Absinthe and elemi lead through frankincense and flowers to warmer resins and woods, interpreting the enduring flame associated with Vesta.
Perfumer: Christian Provenzano
Puritas, whose name means purity, takes its subject from Vesta, the Roman goddess of home and hearth, and the flames kept burning in her temples. Created by Christian Provenzano and introduced in 2020, it interprets that enduring presence through incense, flowers, resins and woods. A sharper opening, suggestive of an apothecary’s drying herbs, gives way to a softer floral centre.
Elemi, pink pepper, absinthe and saffron introduce frankincense, rose, Indian tuberose absolute, geranium, Chinese ylang-ylang and Egyptian jasmine. Flowers bring fullness around the more bitter, spicy materials. Labdanum, patchouli, tonka, guaiac wood, vetiver and amber then build the base, extending the composition through warmer resins and woods.
Consider it when you want incense and resin at the centre of a fragrance, or flowers with a more bitter accent. The 100mL bottle combines star-speckled blue glass with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. Its blue circular medallion bears the eagle and fragrance name above a thick glass base.
